Rail Possessions Coordinator

We are working exclusively with a tier one contractor on a major heavy rail D and C project on the outskirts of Brisbane. to source a permanent Rail Possessions Coordinator. This is a critical role and the Possessions Coordinator will be the central point of contact to ensure all rail possession activities are delivered effectively and maximised in the short window of time available.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop, submit, and manage possession requests
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of rail possessions, including track access, isolation requirements, and resource planning.
• Interface with contractors to maximise possession windows and minimise risks.
• Coordinate and manage project Safeworking Requirements with the Safety Manager and Advisors.
• Act as the key liaison between internal project teams.
• Be the main interace with client contacts in relation to arranging approval for possessions.
• Set up and oversee possessions.
• Prepare post-possession reports, providing information on lessons learned, and recommendations for improvements for future possessions.

Experience and Knowledge

• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in rail possession planning.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of Network Rules, and procedures, particularly relating to Possession Planning.
• A demonstrated ability to manage multiple possessions and meet critical deadlines.
• Strong financial and commercial management skills, including budget forecasting.
• Proven ability to lead meetings, influence outcomes, and provide strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Experience on projects in excess of $80 million

Qualifications

• A Diploma in Project Management, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

Candidates that have not specifically carried out this role previously but have experience aa a Rail Project Engineer with experience in track or other rail related disciplines will also be considered.
